The length of the sharpened lead core can make a big difference in a \"make it or break it\" lead experience. This pencil sharpener allows you to adjust the length of the sharpened lead core. Numbers are labeled on a dial, the larger the number the longer the sharpened lead core. Levels range from 1 to 5.

A decent sharpener, but...

A decent sharpener, but the shaving door is held closed only when the round end is rotated to the right place. If you are on the go, you risk having shaving bits and lead dust all over any belongings in the same bag. So a good product for desk, not for a backpack, purse or travel bag.

I ordered five pencil...

I ordered five pencil sharpeners to see if I could fine a replacement for my favorite that you no longer carry. This was the worst one of the bunch. It was hard to empty the shavings chamber and to access the sharpener to pull out broken leads. There were many broken leads, too. I am in search of a sharpener to buy for the children in my second grade class. This is not it.
